alleging that health officials failed to ensure the shots were safe before
ordering the citizenry to take them.
A group of 30 families are suing the British Government, nursing homes and
hospitals over the deaths of their relatives in the early days of the Covid
pandemic.
The legal
claims come from a decision in March of 2020, when a decision
was made to rapidly discharge elderly hospital patients into nursing homes without
the patients being tested or a requiring them to isolate. This policy was
later judged to be unethical and
unlawful. The plaintiffs say their human rights were breached by the
government’s failure to protect their relatives’ right to life as well as their
right to privacy, family life and discrimination.
A Michigan judge ruled that a lawsuit filed by the family of a
man who died after receiving remdesivir contaminated with glass particles can
proceed, despite claims by the drug’s manufacturer, Gilead Sciences, that it is
shielded from liability under the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness,
or PREP, Act. (But shield does not apply if fraud involved and there clearly
proven involved in most of these cases.)
